 miss Layla creates such pretty things.  these cookies were a fun surprise, already made and just waiting to be decorated.  i think she nailed them.

 if you rearranged and moved around furniture all day, and then repeated the process all over again! imagine doing it all before turning one?  sweet baby C is soooo beyond toys.  like who has time for those?!  there're so...six months ago...there's important work to be done!! :) 

phewww....breaking a sweat, had to take off a layer...

this happens every single day.  so hilarious.  then he's wiped out.  and so is Jeff, because he sure works hard too.

Yonas

 Yonas messaged me the other day.  what an amazing gift it is to connect every so often with this dear young man.  short recap~ we met Yonas when he was about ten or twelve, in Addis Ababa, while we were there picking up Alemayehu.  meeting him there and seeing him over the course of the week, and getting to know a little about his story~ well, it impacted Jeff and I deeply.  if you wish to read more about him i would be happy to dig up all the places i've blogged about him and his progress.  

anyway.....fast forward a decade, and imagine my great joy to stare at this amazing picture of him.  he is good, other than kind of being stuck in limbo like the rest of us with this pandemic, but otherwise he seems to be doing well.  so grateful! ❤
